Lately I’ve been in the mood for a really big salad! Summer usually does this to me since salads are so light and refreshing, yet still very filling and satisfying. One of my favorites is this Chef Salad.
It has lots of flavor from the different meats, pickled veggies, and a super simple dressing. And, it can be customized to your liking for a really delicious meal during the hot summer months.
To me, a good salad still has all the components of a meal: veggies, fats and protein, and this one is full of all of those! It features lots of veggies, a dressing for some healthy fats, and has an egg and deli meats for protein.
Tips for Chef Salad:
- When selecting a deli meat for this salad, some can have a lot of sugar and preservatives, which for me personally, I don't like, so check the labels. I really love Applegate meats. They have some that are Whole30 compatible and some that aren't, but I always know it is quality meat with minimal ingredients.
- If you don't have the ingredients or time to make a dressing, buy one! I like Primal Kitchen Italian Vinaigrette.
- If you’re making this for lunches during the week, prep everything ahead of time. All of these ingredients will last if you chop them at the beginning of the week.
