Tacos are a staple in a lot of family's households during the week and I know why! They are one of the easiest meals you can make on a weeknight when you have a lot of activities going on. This taco meat only takes about 10 minutes to make and getting the whole meal on the table took under 30 minutes. The one thing special about this taco meat is that the seasoning is not from a package- it is all made from spices that you probably already have in your pantry. My goal is to show you that you can make Quick and Easy Taco Meat with ingredients you already have and that are actually a lot better for you!

There is nothing wrong with packaged taco seasoning when you are in a pinch, but the one thing that it is loaded with is sodium. This is why I like to make my own so I can control my sodium intake. Of course, everyone likes their taco meat seasoned a little differently, which is why I like making my own. You can make it a little spicier if you want or if you are cooking for kids you can keep the heat out.

This recipe is created for one meal's worth of taco seasoning, however, you can always make extra if you want to keep it on hand to make your meals even faster. Some grocery stores sell spices in bulk, which can make it both cheaper and easier to make bulk taco mix!

One thing about this recipe is that you can use any ground meat that you like. I really like making chicken or turkey tacos, but you can use your favorite meat. You follow the same directions for all meat!

Tips for Quick and Easy Taco Meat:

    1. If you like this seasoning, make it easier for meals later on.
    2. Use any ground meat that you prefer or have on hand.
    3. Tacos are a great meal to prep for the week for lunches, so don't be afraid to make extras.
    4. If you want it a little spicier, add a small amount of cayenne to give it a kick.
    5. My favorite packed taco seasoning is from Siete!
