Lately I have been into simplifying my meals. I don't have as much time in the kitchen as I would like, but that doesn't mean that I can't make some really healthy meals with minimal ingredients. These Teriyaki Chicken Burgers are very simple, but satisfy my cravings every time! This is a time saving meal that is great for any busy person.

For this meal you can use either ground chicken or ground turkey. I know people definitely have their preference on either one that they like, so pick the one you like best or the one you have on hand. I like both, but I always get mine from Greensbury Market. They have the best meat (in my opinion) and I always have it on hand because they delivery straight to my door.

A little bit more about this recipe, it is all easy ingredients to buy, or that you might already have on hand! I use soy free Teriyaki Sauce from Thrive market. You can use any of your favorite teriyaki sauce, though. If you are on Whole30 Thrive Market's is great or another brand you can use is Coconut Secret or Primal Kitchen. Other than that, it is a few spices (garlic, ginger, salt and pepper) and you are done! There are no "special" ingredients and it makes life so much easier.

How I serve these burgers: I love them with cooked pineapple and onion in a lettuce wrap, which is great on and off a Whole30. I realize not everyone loves a lettuce wrap, you can always choose a bun or just eat it by itself! Any option is great, you just have to decide what works best for you and your body.

    Tips for Teriyaki Chicken Burgers:

    1. Use chicken or turkey- works great with both.
    2. If you are fining the meat is dry when you mix it, you can add an egg. Another reason why I love Greensbury meat is because I never find it dry.
    3. Serve with whatever toppings you like!
    4. Make extras to freeze for a day you need an emergency meal or don't feel like cooking.
    5. I don't recommend making these on the grill unless you have a flat top because they will fall through. I love using my Always Pan from Our place.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lbs Ground Chicken I like Greensbury Market
    • 4 slices Fresh Pineapple
    • ¼ Red Onion Cut into ¼ inch rounds
    • 1 head Bib Lettuce
    • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
    • 2 tablespoon Soy Free Teriyaki I like Thrive Market
    • Salt and Pepper to taste

    Teriyaki Drizzle

    • ¼ cup Soy Free Teriyaki I like Thrive Market
    • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon Almond Butter

    Instructions

    • Heat your pan to medium-high heat and add avocado oil.
    • Combine ground chicken, no so teriyaki sauce, ginger powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into a bowl. Mix until thoroughly combined.
    • Make 4 equal-sized patties and add them to the hot pan. Cook for about 8 minutes per side or until the internal temp is 165 degrees.
    • While the chicken is cooking, slice your pineapple and onions. Also, combine all the Teriyaki Drizzle ingredients into a bowl. Whisk until combined.
    • When chicken is cooked, add the sliced pineapple to the same pan and heat for about 4 minutes per side.
    • Assemble the burgers. I like to do lettuce, pineapple, chicken buger, onions then the drizzle on to. However, you can do it however you like!

    Notes
