Football season is back and one my of my favorite things to cook on a Sunday afternoon is chicken wings! You can add so many different flavors to mix them up. There's nothing better than crispy chicken wings while watching your favorite team. These Chili Lime Chicken Wings are a little bit spicy and a little bit limey. I love dipping them in some jalapeno ranch!
Everyone does their wings slightly differently. Whether you're grilling, baking, or air frying, there is no wrong way! This recipe works great for any method you decide to use. I always love using my air fryer to get them extra crispy, though. The key to the air fryer is to cook them plain for a few minutes, then adding the sauce and putting them back in. This creates an extra crispy layer on the outside of the wings versus cooking them all the way and then coating them with the sauce.
For the jalapeño ranch, I use my Dairy-free ranch recipe and just add a couple of ingredients. I add half (or full if you like really spicy) of a jalapeño, a handful of cilantro, and the juice of half a lime. I blend this in a blender or immersion blender, until smooth. It's very fresh and has a slight kick to it at the end which goes nicely with the Chili Lime Chicken Wings.
Tips for Chili Lime Chicken Wings:
- I also use JOI cashew base, which is simply just ground cashews. You can also use cashew butter or your favorite mild flavored nut butter.
- Patting your chicken wings dry before cooking helps get them crispy.
- Follow the steps for cooking almost all the way through then adding sauce and cooking more if you are using the oven or the grill.
In this recipe I used Greensbury Chicken wings, which are my favorite! You can use the code ALTITUDE for 10% off your first order.
